Generosity Helps Work Miracles, Children's Lives Impacted

Wow! It is 73 degrees today and still winter! The plants in my yard are confused as they

peep up from the ground to be warmed by the sun – even though the weatherman warns of frigid weather to come. Sadly when the cold returns, it will certainly threaten these tender, brave plants. For them to survive, I’ll need to protect them.

The children and families who turn to Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) for help need protection and refuge from the harsh elements of life. Just as the cold winds of March threaten the spring growth in my yard, the turbulence of crisis, neglect, abuse, and trauma threatens to rob our children of the hope they desperately need. We must diligently surround them with a hedge of protection on their journey to healing and new life.

Will you join them on this journey of redemption? Will you help lead them toward the light that penetrates all darkness? Will you walk with them on their journey to new life in Jesus?

Scripture reads, “And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, ‘Who shall roll

away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?’” (Mark 16:2-3)

As they made their journey to the tomb, Mary and Mary Magdalene were burdened by grief and sorrow. As they approached the tomb, they began to worry about how they would be able to get inside. How could they remove the stone which blocked their way to Jesus?

What they discovered, however, was that the grace and power of our Lord could not be bound by any tomb or by any stone.

The journey of Mary, Mary Magdalene, the Disciples, and Jesus’ followers was not an easy

journey. However, it was a journey of faith that forever altered their lives. This journey brought them to a place where fear was quieted and hope fulfilled.

Because of your ministry through BCH, hundreds are being shown that nothing is too big for

the healing grace of Jesus. They’re learning no problem or question is too difficult

for the wisdom of God and nothing that happens in life can prevent the love of Christ from reaching them.

Last year at BCH, we had the joy of witnessing more than 100 precious souls make

their journey to Jesus – the giver of hope. Thank you for making it possible for us to be here to provide protection from the harshness of life and to help roll away the stones of trauma threatening to block their way to healing.

Children and families will be making their journey to Jesus this Easter season. They will go

with expectation and hope, but they will also go with some fear – the overwhelming darkness that has touched their lives casts a long shadow. But I know that through God’s power and grace, another stone will be rolled away.

As I prepare for this special Easter season, I’m reminded how at BCH we lovingly hold the hands of the children helping them move the stones from their way – helping each child make the journey with confidence knowing God is with them.

Please continue traveling with our children and families on this journey. And thank you for all you have done and are doing to help us reach each one with the message of Easter.

Walking around my yard in this mild weather, I experience new life springing up around me. In the distance on this beautiful day, I hear children laughing as they ride their bikes and play on the swings. As I listen, I hear the hurt and sadness they’ve known turn into laughter. Thank you for helping to provide their squeals of joy.

The professional, profoundly loving Christian environment provided through your generosity

has worked miracles. The next time you take a walk in your yard and see a beautiful flower

blooming, remember the children who you are helping on their journey to new life.
