Community Supports Baptist Children's Homes Residential Wilderness Camps
The Trailblazers from Cameron Boys Camp attracted lots of attention at their booth.
People in the Sandhills area of the state were treated to a day of good ol’ gospel music, barbecue and fun activities for all ages. HopeFest returned May 30 for the third year to promote and benefit Baptist Children’s Homes’ (BCH) Cameron Boys Camp and Camp Duncan for Girls. The event took place at the Lee Regional Fairgrounds in Sanford.
“It’s an event created for the community to enjoy,” said BCH’s Danny Hawkins, “but it’s also a way to share hope with these boys and girls and help them rise above their challenges.”
HopeFest is organized by a grass roots group. Co-Chairs this year were Joe Wynn and Karen Wood. Key event sponsors were Fred Anderson Toyota of Sanford, Walmart and Relyus Direct Mail Solutions.
Admission to the event is free. Vendors are part of the day-long event. Lunch was provided for a donation.
