The numbers resound God's faithfulness

The numbers have been tallied, and what they reveal is a testament to the mighty working of God and the commitment of His people.

A record number of individuals were impacted through the many ministries of Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) in 2017. From the tiniest to most aged, from Murphy to Manteo, and all points in between, care and compassion were offered in the name of Jesus.

BCH president/CEO Michael C. Blackwell, who marks his 35th anniversary in 2018, said that last year stands out among the many years he has been at the helm. “It is always amazing to see how God leads dynamically when serving those who are hurting and are at risk.”

North Carolina Baptists and other friends of children provided selflessly through prayer, resources and financial gifts. Record numbers attended Friends of Children days and other events at BCH locations. It was awe inspiring. Last year was one for the books. To God be the glory!

There were 203 decisions for Christ in 2017.

Since 1885, BCH has kept Christ at the center of all we do. Children and residents attend church weekly and have daily devotions.

Last year, 151 sibling groups found refuge and hope.

The ministry is one of the few providers with the ability to keep brothers and sisters together.

Greater Vision Outreach Ministry served 9,393.

In its first year, Greater Vision offered physical and educational resources to North Carolina families in crisis.

125,889 days of care to children.

A "day of care" is counted every time a child is safely tucked in bed at night. This total represents the tremendous needs of our boys and girls living at BCH.

In 2017, BCH impacted 32,576 lives.

Through its many ministries, and the support of churches and friends, BCH reached more children, families and individuals than ever.
