NCBAM enrichment workshops available to aging adults

From basic classes to advanced evidence-based programs, North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry (NCBAM) offers dozens of workshops that address issues relevant to aging adults. NCBAM team members are available to present these classes to your church or organization.

Carolyn Bolin of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte says that information she learned in an NCBAM class was invaluable to her. Bolin attended a medication management class that NCBAM offered at SummerFest (Fort Caswell’s senior adult retreat). The class helped Bolin identify a prescription that she had been taking incorrectly for many years. Bolin states, “I had been taking this medicine with certain supplements that interfered with its effectiveness. After making the proper adjustments, I worked with my doctor and was able to stop taking the medicine entirely.”

NCBAM offers more than 40 titles under the following categories: Aging and Spirituality, NCBAM’s CareAble Curriculum, Caregiving, Healthy Aging,

Intergenerational Ministry, The Ministries of NCBAM, Planning Ahead, Priority #1: Prevention, and Evidence-Based Classes. NCBAM’s classes are appropriate for lunch ’n learns, retreats, mission groups, congregant meal sites, conference break-outs, and senior adult rallies or fellowships.

NCBAM fulfills its mission to help aging adults maintain their independence and enjoy quality of life through evidence-based education, connecting individuals 65+ or their caregivers to existing resources or volunteers, and spiritual encouragement.
