Shining bright as they step into the future

BCH RESIDENTS

Ciara, a resident at Mills Home in Thomasville, graduated from Thomasville High School on June 8. She has been accepted to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she plans to pursue a degree in Physics.


Khalah graduated from Tri-County Early College in Murphy with an associates degree on May 10. She also received her high school diploma from the college on May 24. Khalah will attend Western Carolina University in Cullowhee where she plans to major in nursing and psychology. She is a resident at Truett Home in Hayesville.


Taylor graduated on June 1 from North Lenoir High School in La Grange. She is a resident at Kennedy Home in Kinston. Taylor will remain at Kennedy Home while attending Lenoir Community College in Kinston to study fine arts.


FORMER BCH RESIDENT

Roberta Edwards, a former resident who lived at Broyhill Home in Clyde, graduates from nursing school at Haywood Community College. Roberta is enrolled at East Tennessee State University to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. She has already accepted a position as a registered nurse with Mission Hospital in Asheville.



STAFF CHILDREN

Ashleigh Barnes graduated on May 10 with an associate in arts degree from Davidson County Early College in Lexington. She also received her high school diploma on May 18. Ashleigh is the daughter of Miriam Matias, a resident manager for Family Care at Mills Home in Thomasville. Ashleigh plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forensic Psychology.


Zenaida Bryant is the daughter of Rose Bryant, Director of Family Work at Kennedy Home in Kinston. Zenaida graduated from Kinston High School on June 1. She will attend UNC Chapel Hill where she will major in exercise and sports science.\


Caitlyn Cable graduated on June 8 from West Caldwell High School in Lenoir. She will attend Western Carolina University this fall. Caitlyn is the daughter of Jada Cable, Program Supervisor/Case Manager at Care House in Lenoir.


Dai-shon Donald, son of Kennedy Home case manager Serena Rouse, graduates from J.H. Rose High School in Greenville on June 7. He plans to major in exercise and sport science at UNC Pembroke.


Kristin Frazier graduated on May 11 from Appalachian State University in Boone with a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Design with a concentration in Furniture Design. She begins an internship with Haas Brothers Designs in Los Angeles, CA this Summer. Kristin is the daughter of Faith Frazier, an accounts receivable professional in BCH Administration in Thomasville.


Haley Garner graduated in December 2018 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from East Carolina in Greenville. She is the daughter of Lynn Garner, Director of Family Care. Haley is a registered nurse at Vidant Hospital in Greenville.


Colby King is the son of Rebecca King, NC PreK teacher for Weekday Education in Thomasville. He graduated on June 8 from East Davidson High School in Thomasville. Colby will attend Davidson County Community College in Lexington and plans to major in Business Administration. He has also signed to be a member of the college’s golf team.


Sawyer Kirsch graduated on May 11 from UNC Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Science. He plans to remain in Wilmington to work in fisheries or state park positions. Sawyer is the son of Kim LeSage, Assistant at Fancy Finds in Thomasville.


Holden Surratt is the son of Martha Surratt, Director, Special Ministries and Program Analyst for BCH Administration. Holden graduated from East Davidson High School on June 8.
